Kashindi:

1. Please tell us about yourself?
My name is Nanyemba Hafeni Katamba, well I’m a UNAM graduate and have more than 14 years experience working with vulnerable populations through government ministries, local and international NGO’s. On November 7th, 2012, I launched my first publication entitled “Climbing the property investment ladder in Namibia”.
The book intend to promote the dialogue on how to climb the property investment ladder in Namibia, and it targets young professionals, families, current and would-be homeowners, and property investors.

2. What has been your most challenging moment in your life?
In general, maintaining a good balance between constructive and destructive things in life can be a challenge. Fortunately, I have strong relationships with friends and family, particularly my wife, and that keeps me centred.

4. What do you enjoy most in Namibia?
Namibia is the most peaceful countries in the world, and I very much enjoy the political and economic stability. With such foundation in place, every hardworking Namibian can become successful in whatever they commit themselves to achieve provided there is true interest, hardworking and commitment.

5. Who is your favourite author?
Robert Kiyosaki and Saki Nikodemus

6. If you are given the power to change something in Namibia, what is that you are going to change and why?
At individual level, we need to encourage each Namibian to focus their efforts on things that they can do something about, for example, getting appropriate education. We need to stop the blame game and the feeling of victimization.

7. Who is your business role model?
Oupa Indongo and all the SME business owners

8. If you win one million Namibian Dollars what are you going to do with it?
Wow!! I will definitely invest half of it, and use the remaining as start-up capital for a number of business ideas. Last but not least, I will also take my family for a well deserve vacation at some of Namibia’s finest lodges.

9. Have you produced any book and if so what is it all about and how can we get hold of it?
As I mentioned at the beginning, my first publication was launched on November 07th, 2012, and it’s now available at the BOOKCELLARcc. The shop is situated at the Craft centre, Garten Street, Windhoek. Those who want to buy a copy can contact the bookshop at Tel: 061-231615 or email: bookcellar@iway.na

10. Is there any other thing that you would like to share with us?
YES, I also have a very informative blog, and the purpose of this blog is to interact with existing and upcoming property investors, particularly young professionals who have shown an interest in learning or sharing experiences on the subject of property investment. Please feel free to visit my blog at www.nanyembakatamba.com

Many thanks Hafeni for your insight and for your contribution to economic literacy in Namibia.
